I have been working at Humana full-time

    Pros

Work at home options, decent pay

    Cons

Not a lot of room for advancement. Medical insurance, if you are covering a spouse that can get insurance through their employer you have to pay a $45 surcharge per paycheck

    Advice to Management

A lot of people either stay or leave due to management

I worked at Humana (More than a year)

    Pros

Good Salary for a temp to perm position and better if you make the cut to permanent employee.

    Cons

Very large home office so you can get lost in the employment crowd.

    Advice to Management

Comminicate better with what is expected of a temporary position to become permanent.

    I worked at Humana full-time

    Pros

Job can actually be fun and non-stressful. The work itself is not hard to do, definitely beats a sales job any day. People are always advancing and moving to better opportunities with in the company. This is a very health conscience place and will inspire you to be a better you. Best benefits out there with the cash rewards for being healthy (hopefully this is still in place).

    Cons

Can be a horrible experience if you end up on the wrong team. They need to stop raising the goals every time they turn around, it takes away from the members experience and the capabilities of the specialist. It becomes more of a numbers game rather than a service. I had the best experience when I first started. Then I switched teams and it seemed like the worst job ever. I switched teams again just before leaving and it was rainbows and sunshine again.

    Advice to Management

If a supervisor/manager is reported more than once to treat the employees under him/her like crap, chances are he/she is treating the employees like crap and this person should not be in a position of power. Also stop turning everything into a numbers game, if someone is a number cruncher with no floor experience they should not be the go-to person for goal setting. You talk about the "funnel effect", well it gets worse when you began to treat members like they are just numbers.

I have been working at Humana full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Flexible, work from home, schedule.

    Cons

Several workforce reductions in the last year. Very bureaucratic. Resists change.

    Advice to Management

Leadership: If you want to know what’s happening within the organization you should take a firsthand look. Relying on data, report-outs, and other means of information gathering leaves you very out of touch with reality.
