I worked at Humana full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    401 k is pretty awesome 125% of 6 % pay

    Cons

They lie. Their mantra is taking care of people, in a healthy environment. The company only projects the idea of well being on the website. Internally, my health suffered because of a workplace injury, and HR ignored me until I had to resign.

I have been working at Humana full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work from home is sometimes offered

    Cons

Ever changing higher management. Lack of communication to normal employees. Raises are not even worth being called raises. If you're a male, you'll be paid more even if you don't do your job. They take advantage of the workers who work hard and don't acknowledge that they've done well. "Party manager" is horrible at her job but no one can say anything about it or risk being fired.
Your health benefits are horrid. Be better just buying your own.

    Advice to Management

Remember that your employees should be valued. Don't keep piling on the work without acknowledging your making us do a 3 person job and still pay us for 1 person.

"Firing or Laying Off Americans to hire Eastern Indians"

I worked at Humana full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

None--everyone here is a ladder climber, and the company culture is terrible. Your Eastern Indian Boss pulls the whole team out of production to have a meeting to yell at them for two hours every other day about how they aren't making production. Puts everyone down on the team by calling them children, even the Marine who served in Iraq. When he stands up to the Eastern Indian boss to defend the team he gets fired. Oh, and the insane boss throws heavy metal objects like staplers, and tape dispensers at team members. Boss is not dealt with because boss is married to an upper eschelon manager at the main building in Louisville. This place is a joke.

    Cons

Read above--you will be so much healthier for LEAVING this environment. Stop what you are doing, they hire nut jobs, and just leave! Also, if you live in Louisville, you will see DROVES of Eastern Indians walking down the street to work there. Louisville is basically New Delhi now, because they are letting decent and hard working Veterans, and good Americans go, to replace them with foreigners, some of whom are absolutely insane.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating your employees like they are children. Vet every single person you hire with a GOOD quality mental examination. Stop playing favorites when two people are married and they work for the same company, or just because they know someone. Stop hiring loads of foreigners, and start retaining good and honest American workers. Actually listen to your employees

I worked at Humana full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Ability to work from home

    Cons

Impossible to move to a different department.

Micromanaging (log breaks, lunches in computer system)

Some favoritism for moving into other positions depending on timing and being awarded for performance

Managers and supervisors are very high-school like, there is a "cool kids" crowd and then there is everyone else.

I have been working at Humana full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Opportunity to grow is great.

    Cons

Being a company that appreciates out of the box thinking, it is hard to know when are why your efforts are being appreciated. Longevity, degrees, loyalty does not always add up to getting a raise.

    Advice to Management

Help employees understand the big picture, and consider annual cost of living increases and bonuses.
