Pros

Benefits and some positions involve traveling.

Cons

Senior management is disconnected from progressive global movements. Many cultural and racially-insensitive comments, actions, campaigns, and attitudes. Internal politics are offensive depending on the hue in your skin. High turnover rate with employees of color at the National Associations.

Pros

Benefits: 5 weeks PTO, 100% health, employer-paid 403b contribution + match.

Cons

Internal governance of the U.S. organization needs restructuring. There's also internal abuse, negligence, and discrimination against staff--particularly staff of color. As evidenced in an internal survey and through reported interactions. Employees are expected to work across multiple roles with blurred lines and interesting staff dynamics at the international level. The pay scale in the U.S. is inequitable for the officers; people are underpaid and overworked. The organization is widely biased towards Euro- and N. American-centric values. It is reflected in program management and leadership at the country-level. In country staff receive disproportionately less compensation and benefits than their counterparts at the National Associations. Lastly, nepotism and cronyism is rampant across U.S. and international appointments--inc. staff, business-to-business partnerships, & consultant roles.
