I worked at Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The management and co-workers were the best I've ever had. It felt like family making it easy to go to work everyday.

    Cons

Business is dependent on customer demand, if it was a week day and no sporting events, not too many tips. It was understandable though, that's just how the pizza business is

I worked at Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Area supervisors will throw money at anyone if it means they don't have to work themselves or if no one else wants to do the job since it's not their money.

    Cons

Bad business ethics displayed for lower level management and employees from unsupervised, under-qualified, grand-fathered in supervisors.
No concern for fairness, employee help or work conditions.
The corporation sets their goals for food and labor in the company's president's stores so low that their entire staff gets bought off to kill themselves. They do this so the store performance reports they show to franchisees are impressive.
You are told you are important and growth is available but it is untrue.

    Advice to Management

Nothing. The CEO simply keeps his stores as a tax write off and an inspiration to unknowing aspiring franchisees. Anything that may be contributing or considered valuable is seen as a threat to the upper management the CEO has put in place.

They can't keep a manager in the store.

I have been working at Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs part-time

    Pros

Manager never works at night, so younger college students run the store during the busiest hours. Freedom and no micro managing.

    Cons

Manager complains a lot through texting hounding employees over small issues. Day hours are not available because owner and general manager are the only ones working during the week

    Advice to Management

Give more flexibility in shifts and work some of the nights to see how the store runs.

I worked at Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Half-Priced pizza. There was a very pretty young lady I got to work with.

    Cons

Rude customers, rude management, garbage pay.

    Advice to Management

Actually hire some intelligent managers and pay them their worth. It is no wonder the Hammond location failed, the management there was horrible, rude, and not very intelligent. Please look into the hiring criteria of your employees as they seem to be bottom of the barrel.

I have been working at Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay, consistent hours, decent raises that are given more than most companies. Even pick up customers tip sometimes. Employee discount too depending on location and manager.

    Cons

No breaks, no holiday pay. Some employees complain about having to clean during down time. Can get frustrating to see others standing around while you work. Not enough help/employees on schedule sometimes. Not good for people who can't multi-task. Drivers end up making more than managers after tips. POS frequently malfunctions.

    Advice to Management

Revention is terrible. Their tech support is a joke. Make a better, automated report for sheet out and dough charts based on previous weeks sales and last year sales. Store managers rarely update those as often as needed because it's too time consuming.

Some customers are very nice and generous
    Wage doesn't drop when driving

    Cons

    Lot's of miles on vehicle
    Tips are not the greatest
    Some very hostile customers

    Advice to Management

Reevaluate pay system (Management tops out at $10)

I have been working at Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

We care about each other, the job, and the customer and have fun while we do it.

    Cons

When it gets busy it can be insanely hectic and tempers rise, customers never seem to understand an oven only cooks so much food at once. And they always think they are the only ones that have ordered food...

    Advice to Management

Keep giving guidance and "molding" other managers and crew. I've learned so much and continue to soak it in. When situation calls for it be firm but don't degrade the employee.

    Cons

It wasent something i could make a life on, It was low paying and hard to make your way up!

    Advice to Management

To make work more enjoyable & to have more ways to help out. Learn more about how the whole places works.

I have been working at Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The nature of the physical work is not hard at all.

    Cons

Where to begin? There are entirely too many to list, from corporate down to a franchise.

    Advice to Management

As a store manager there is not much i can do. The best i can say is this is a case of micromanagement gone wrong in every possible aspect. I would aslo not advise inspiring people to move into management. Take your talents elsewhere.
