It seems partners are much more flexible with associates who have kids than with those who don’t. If it’s okay for my colleague with a kid to leave at 5 pm and log on later, why isn’t that the same for me (no kids)? My obligations might be different, but I still have a life and want to be able to do certain things, like catch that evening workout class or cook dinner for my partner. As you can probably tell, my firm is operating 100% in person. There is no point here — I’m just whining.

    Pros

Great people, I met many ambitious coworkers and attorneys. Great location for those in South San Jose.

    Cons

Very fast paced and repetitive work. Upwards mobility is available, but the pay does not match the increase in responsibilities when doing so.

    It's a Soul Stealer

    Pros

There are many good lunch options within walking distance.

    Cons

Basically, this company will steal your soul. Not to call them "the devil", but if I did, their managers would be the demons. One of their managers is a bully and I'm certain anyone who works there or has worked there knows who. This place is everything one would expect from a bottom-feeding law office collection agency. Minus the money. There is also hidden nepotism at this company. They call each other by first name instead of "Dad" or "Mom" or "Aunt", for example. The workload is impossible and unappreciated, it's like being in an administrative sweat shop. Morale is in the gutter. We're under surveillance and on lock down. Someone help us lol .. Check your HR paperwork and paystubs for errors or misleading statements. The work itself isnt gratifying and will make anyone with a heart feel awful.

    Horrible company!

    Pros

    Full time with medical benefits.

    Cons

SO many cons! The managers here are terrible, especially the female managers. You can tell they have absolutely no training in management. I don't know why the owners can't see the issue with such high turnover. Three worst things in this company are extremely low pay, horrible managers and absolutely no perks. Pay- no where near enough to survive in the Bay Area, even if you come in with a college degree. Managers- beware of JJO, she has got to be the worst person I've ever met in my life- super immature and conniving. Perks- No bonuses or incentives, which is ridiculous considering with the amount of work you do.

    Pros

-Other employees are very friendly and willing to help -Many opportunities to learn new things

    Cons

-A lot of micromanagement goes on; constantly being asked how much work you did in a day makes it feel like you aren't trusted to do your job -Values quantity of work over quality -High turnover; needing to find and train new employees every few months hinders progress -No room for upward growth; you may get more responsibilities within your role, but no promotions and don't expect a raise
