I worked at Hunter PR full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Creativity was highly encouraged
    - Everyone who you worked with was SO nice -- very different from most PR agencies
    - Great opportunities for growth
    - Tight knit culture

    Cons

    - Long hours at times

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! I think the management did a really great job of motivating staff and leading by example

I worked at Hunter PR full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Clients & cupcakes on Wednesdays.

    Cons

Too many to list. Salary being the worst one of them all. Also, a severe case of double standards.

    Advice to Management

I am sure you have noticed an employee leaving every week (this is no exaggeration). Maybe you can do something about this. Don't worry so much about how much money you are making but worry more about the happiness of your employees.

I worked at Hunter PR full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are a lot of glamourous perks of working at Hunter PR. Free food/booze/beauty products being one, cupcakes on Wednesdays and birthday celebrations once a month, I thought I was in heaven.

    Cons

I soon found out I was not though. I did not get nearly enough PR experience during my time at Hunter. When it was time to move on, I had no portfolio to show from my X number of months I was working there. I often worked from 6am-11pm (or later) M-F. I understand that PR is not a 9-5 job, but I honestly had no life outside work. When I wasn't working I was stressing over the emails I might get from my bosses about work. I was once yelled at for not responding to an email while I was very sick. On many occasions I asked to work late nights and holidays. I was humiliated and I was referred to, on multiple occasions, as "weak" and was told I "would never make it in PR." After working unhappily for months, I tried to go to higher management and was told the same thing, but was never offered with advice on how to improve. Another aspect of Hunter PR was that there were a lot of caddy clicks. Unfortunately, I was always working, so I never had time to form real relationships with my coworkers anyway but, had I wanted to, it would have been difficult to do so. I have never worked so hard in my life and benefited so very little. I was never treated with respect. I was never given the opportunity to voice my opinions without getting a snarky or sarcastic feedback.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with respect and help them manage a work-life balance. Also, be more open to hearing their voices.

I worked at Hunter PR full-time

    Pros

You'll meet some nice people, but who knows how long they'll last.

    Cons

    -Very poor management structure
-Don't expect to be treated with respect! Basically, you're just a gopher catering to upper management's whims
-All emails are monitored and re-written (poorly at that)
-Upper management seems to condone stretching the truth to clients, versus managing expectations, to foster strong relationships
-Frequent mistakes in event planning, new business decks, press materials, etc. due to lack of time and attention to detail
-Very poor treatment of employees, with not much room or potential for true growth
    -No work/life balance

    Advice to Management

Management sees at least one employee resign every week but doesn't seem to see that this indicates a larger problem happening within the firm. Don't know how the firm stays in business. Start caring more about your employees and their goals. Listen to what is being said when employees express concerns. Upper management: don't talk about team members to other employees. News spreads quickly. It's always a bad look when bosses play favorites, and ridicule and belittle team members to others.

    Pros

    The people are nice
Room for growth - which is extremely important to me
    Relaxed atmosphere
There's a sense of comradery among staff, which is always pleasant
    Managing Partner is wonderful

    Cons

Office space is small compared to how fast the company is growing
    Aren't very many perks
Working from home is generally frowned upon, but exceptions can be made

    Advice to Management

Allow people to work from home more often: more work gets done
Depending on the field/position, promotions should and could happen more often
