    Pros

The community at Hunterdon Healthcare is very small and tight-knight. Everyone knows everyone, and the atmosphere is friendly.

    Cons

Not a lot of room for wage growth in this field.

I worked at Hunterdon Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Good colleagues, great patient community to work with

    Cons

A horrible hostile work environment with abusive management. HR puts on a smiling face and pretends to be investigating, but in the end, just covers up for atrocious behavior of the management. Scores of employees leaving in the state of distress and depression.

I have been working at Hunterdon Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Most people are good to work with.

    Cons

It's better to work part-time or per diem, because you get to pick the days & shifts you can or want to work. Full-time employees (even ones with seniority) then have to work around that schedule.

    Advice to Management

Let full-time employees pick their schedules first, and let it be known when hiring part-time or per diem employees that they have to work around what's available.

I have been working at Hunterdon Healthcare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have made some good friends @ work

    Cons

Benefits, should be better since working for a hospital. The higher ups don't have an idea about what goes on in the practices

    Advice to Management

Management is very loud and Always on the phone texting or using other social media sites and the type of conversation @ the front desk is not good for patients to hear.

    Pros

I was very lucky and had great co-workers, it was a fun environment in the Emergency Room to work in, great atmosphere.

    Cons

The pay wasn't so great, and there was drama amongst older female coworkers.

    Advice to Management

I liked my director, it seemed she had a good head on her shoulders and was there to do business, she didn't tolerate shenanigans and let you know.

    Pros

    Camaraderie amongst non-management level positions
    PTO time is quite fair
Variety of fields/specialties under Hunterdon Healthcare umbrella makes communication between offices/providers easier

    Cons

Management is untouchable; For example, I was witness to several unprofessional and, quite frankly, unacceptable situations in a short period of time. I found that going to HR is of no use if you are concerned about anyone on the upper level because it is simply just reported back to the management at that practice...leaving them to independently decide how to resolve things, although, of course, this "resolution" usually just means they are now aware of the employee complaining about them and things are about to get much worse for that individual.
    High criticism, low praise
High expectations for underpaid & mistreated low level employees- they're always the scapegoat as well

    Advice to Management

Sacrificing quality of patient care & interactions will never promote lasting efficiency; you should treasure those workers that are in healthcare for the right reasons because they CARE about people, rather than criticizing them for the extra 30 seconds they might have to spend tending to the patient.
Respect your workers at every level. Pay is extremely low to begin with, and after receiving a perfect review my first year, I received a raise that was both insulting and comical (let's just say I can count on my fingers the cents/hr increase). Why even bother giving a raise then? It certainly does not stimulate motivation, but rather the opposite unfortunately, and it probably explains why there is such a high turnover rate for non-management positions.
