I worked at Huntington National Bank full-time

    Pros

Good hours and reasonable pay. Good chance at earning a bonus.

    Cons

Management is out of touch with the branch operating structure. When you meet your goals, you're just given higher goals and told you have to make it. Constant threats against your job and advancement. Opportunities to advance are few and far between although while interviewing they tell you the opposite. Like most banks, Huntington pushes the low man way too hard while management refuses to get involved at the branch level.

    Advice to Management

Stop lying to candidates in job interviews. Promote based on achievements instead of politics and tenure. Stop letting your best people go because you refuse to give them the opportunity they deserve. Choose one bonus structure and stick with it. Stop taking bonuses from your people by raising goals constantly. When a current employee is running the ENTIRE branch, don't hire an external gym membership salesman as your new branch manager; promote the existing employee that's been keeping you afloat for 6 months with no outside management help and down 4 branch employees (out of 8). Stop hiring idiots and asking them to give financial advice. Oh, and fire people that don't do their job. It's worth paying unemployment to get a poison out of your company.

I have been working at Huntington National Bank full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, once hired 16days pto, flexible hours reasonable work load for pay, management listens very well and helps shape you into an employee of the future.

    Cons

Communication between departments. Some people do not reflect our core values. Getting chewed out for other people’s errors. Being held to an adherence standard that counts against you if you are late to lunch or break because of how long a customer takes to help.

    Advice to Management

Don’t take senior employees words over newer ones. EVERYONEs opinion matters.
