I worked at Huron Consulting Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people at Huron truly live the company values, which include Integrity, Pursuit of Excellence, and Collaboration. They are some of the most down-to-earth people and are extremely bright consultants. The people are what make the travel worth it.

    Cons

Huron's largest sector is its healthcare division, which is a slow-moving industry. The company is still learning to be innovative and fast-paced in the industry, making sales difficult at this time.

    Advice to Management

As Huron grows, it becomes more difficult for people lower on the hierarchy to contribute to the company at large. It would be beneficial if the company could provide all levels of consultants with the opportunity to engage with the ongoings at the management level.

I worked at Huron Consulting Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

People, people, people - very fun and motivated group of people
Benefits - Very flexible PTO & terrific benefits package

    Cons

The travel can sometimes be a lot (2 hour flights accompanied with 2 hour drives) but it does come with the (consulting) territory)

I worked at Huron Consulting Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Huron has great benefits and employs a lot of wonderful people. They have a flexible model that allows people to work from home. Their time off policy is robust if you choose to use it- otherwise you do not get paid for any time when you leave the company..

    Cons

Huron is still working on figuring out who they want to be when they grow up. When they figure it out, and get the right leadership in place, I think they will do extraordinarily well.

    Advice to Management

A clear, consistent, voice and vision would make a world of difference to the employees who are trying to carry it forward.

    Pros

Best of the brightest and dedicated leaders that really care about the person and the business.

    Cons

none noted so far, would like to see the 'small company' mentality still continued. Monthly office lunches or birthday celebrations with a cake, etc. Small things.

    Advice to Management

continue to pay top performers whether internal or client facing - top bonuses and compensations.
