    Pros

Good Benefits with unlimited PTO and nice 401 match

    Cons

The Healthcare practice is in decline largely because of increased competition and the failure of there latest revenue cycle software Aeos. Aeos was over architect-ed and built on the wrong technology stack (Silverlight, Biztalk and Entity Framework). Aeos was also built with capabilities/features that the client did not want or need. Consulting culture often trades off short term gains at the expense long term health of the product. As a result technical debt was ignored in favor of more features. Consulting culture also favors "friends/buddies" and promotes those individuals rather than people who might have dissenting views on what they feel is right.

    Advice to Management

Hire a strong Vice President of Engineering who has a track record of leading successful projects.

    Pros

    Top notch employees.
    Fun and complicated platform.
    Solid 401k match: 100% match to 6%.
    Average stock purchase plan.
There are fun events that show the old culture of Click.

    Cons

    Getting very corporate.
    Poor planning for future.
    Non-competitive compensation.
Very limited work from home opportunities.
Product is taking a bad turn due to amount of turnover in R&D.

    Advice to Management

Pay your engineers! The platform takes a year to learn and then everyone just leaves when they see the insulting compensation they're offered the first time they get a promotion.

    Pros

The software I was building was for a great cause - I worked for the 'Click Commerce' branch of Huron, and I built applications for Research Facilities to procure funding and use it for scientific research.

    Cons

The tools are SOOOOO outdated - think of the oldest version of Dreamweaver you have seen, and that is what you will be using here if you work in Professional Services. You will write Javascript and JScript (server side javascript) without a sufficient IDE, with no intellisense, and with terrible error handling.

    Advice to Management

Improve your toolset so your developers don't get left behind in the ever-changing technology workforce.

    Deadlines are very important here

    Employees are their biggest asset

    Cons

    Pros

Benefits are satisfactory. People in the trenches are excellent

    Cons

Upper management such as managing directors are so far off the mark on what clients really want that they make poor decisions, relay the marching orders, then blame on site management when the client gets upset. There is no collaboration whatsoever between team members at the management level and no room for creativity and new ideas. There is a very high turnover that is covered up by HR, especially for those individuals who are not willing to give up their integrity and do whatever is asked of them even if is it against the Project Management Code of Ethics. I hate to say this but their upper management level is basically a Whites Only Club. In my 20 years of experience, I never had to deal with discrimination until I worked for Huron. I even tried to express my concerns with HR and my mentor, which led to my termination mainly becuase I refused to commit an unethical act.

    Advice to Management

Complete a root cause analysis and really find out why there is such a high turnover of very experienced people in higher education.
