    Pros

Very collaborative workspace. Coworkers are always willing to help out Analysts and provide wisdom and feedback.
The culture is a blast-especially for an Analyst straight out of college. Huron has optimized the perfect balance of a collegiate yet prestigious atmosphere.
Pay is solid. Per Diems account for an extra $12ish K per year depending on location.
Focus on work-life balance. Upper management is very understanding about taking whatever time you need for personal obligations.
Tons of exposure to client executives (can only speak to Non-Labor) which provides many great learning opportunities.

    Cons

Healthcare practice has struggled a bit with optimizing utilization. One week you may be swamped and the next be searching for something to do.
Not many cons other than your classic consulting complaints.

    Advice to Management

Continue to promote your culture. Figure out a way to allow Analysts to be exposed to other solution groups for more growth and learning opportunities. Find a way to bring analysts and associates together in Chicago!

    Pros

Good benefits, some good people, good way to learn how to be a consultant (at a cost)

    Cons

This is just a word to the wise. Huron is asking their newer employees who have little to no context to go in and rate them on this site. Because of the lack of experience, this is leading to a ton of 5 star reviews and a high approval rating for the CEO. The reality is they have a dry sales pipeline and have got through three rounds of layoffs in the last year with a potential fourth in the Spring. Don't buy into these high reviews, specifically within the healthcare practice.

    Advice to Management

Quit telling your people to lie and stop lying about how the company is doing. You act like things are going well and then turn around and layoff hundreds. Your always say "our people are our most valuable asset" but clearly your shareholders rank higher on the totem pole by some margin.

    Pros

Good Benefits with unlimited PTO and nice 401 match

    Cons

The Healthcare practice is in decline largely because of increased competition and the failure of there latest revenue cycle software Aeos. Aeos was over architect-ed and built on the wrong technology stack (Silverlight, Biztalk and Entity Framework). Aeos was also built with capabilities/features that the client did not want or need. Consulting culture often trades off short term gains at the expense long term health of the product. As a result technical debt was ignored in favor of more features. Consulting culture also favors "friends/buddies" and promotes those individuals rather than people who might have dissenting views on what they feel is right.

    Advice to Management

Hire a strong Vice President of Engineering who has a track record of leading successful projects.

    Pros

Up to $3,750 a year in gift cards for traveling 80%, decent work/life balance, excellent healthcare benefits with very low out of pocket costs, strong culture, commitment to community service

    Cons

Within the healthcare practice, which makes up the majority of their revenue and profit, there seems to be an overall lack of direction. The healthcare management team has had nearly as many bad years as good and continues to steer the ship in every direction looking for the "right" opportunity. The company needs to redefine their focus since they typically try to be all things and offer every service to their clients.

I have been on consulting engagements where the management team signed the contract even though we were unprepared to successfully complete the work. They attempt to grow through acquisition which unfortunately, is diluting the culture.

    Advice to Management

The corporate management team (excludes healthcare) is top notch and I wish them the best.

    Pros

Work alongside the best and brightest available. Successfully compete against larger firms with fewer resources. Investing in development of new solution and service offerings. Exposure to firm and practice leadership. Growth is obvious and exciting. Day to day work is rewarding and fulfilling having a major impact on specific industries such as Higher Ed. Several opportunities for internal involvement outside of client work and across the firm.

    Cons

Changes are slow to come to fruition. Company is growing rapidly with limited resources for collaboration and knowledge sharing across the firm.

    Advice to Management

Make sure everyone knows they are valued. Try to increase transparency to internal initiatives designed to support and enable the success of consulting teams. Invest in talent development at lower levels including outside training and development.
