    The Truth

Sep 27, 2022 - Project Manager in Chicago, IL
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Benefits are great - Culture depends on where you work, but good overall - Lots of different business areas you can work in

    Cons

    - The pay IS NOT COMPETITIVE. They’ll use all kinds of complex verbiage, state they performed a market study….and every, single time they’ll say “you’re being paid appropriately”. - They’ll trick you into taking on new responsibilities or even a new role saying it’ll get you a promotion, but will screw you over at year end and essentially promote without an increase. They’ll then say they’ll give you your promotion increase the following year and then will stiff you again. This happened to me and countless colleagues. Essentially, they’re highly deceptive when it comes to promotions and salary increases and they do everything they can to get the most out of you without paying you more. They’ll get you to take on more work in a higher level position, but won’t pay you for it. Instead, they’ll say you “grew” into the role and then some bs about how you should be very proud and you’re a highly valuable employee. - You’re CONSTANTLY told how valuable and high-performing you are, but you’ll NEVER be shown via promotions, salary increase, increased benefits. It’s all lip service. - Upper Management is completely out of touch with their employees - Mid Management is even more lost since they’re in a “blind leading the blind” scenario

Consulting Firm that Really Does Value Employees

Oct 29, 2022 - Consulting Manager in Dallas, TX
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Huron leadership is reasonable and approachable and appear to truly live their own corporate values. They also truly value their employees, and see them as people. Particularly when compared to many other similar consulting firms, Huron leadership values work-life balance and will employees to keep that balance.

    Cons

Long hours and burnout are still possible, as with any consulting firm.

    Steadily Declining

    Nov 15, 2022 - Director
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Historically, great teams and people have defined the Huron culture and driven positive results for Huron's clients.

    Cons

Slow to adapt/evolve as a business, stuck in the traditional consulting mindset, late to invest in software and technology, unable to differentiate in the market or figure out how to bring value to the healthcare industry in the future, little to no innovation. As a result, revenue continues to decline in Huron's largest business segment - healthcare - and much of the focus is on cutting costs.

Very limited bench but this also keeps you busy so not necessarily a con unless you don't enjoy working.
