I have been working at Husqvarna full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Challenging work opportunities. There are walk behind products such as mowers; ride on products such as garden tractors; and hand held products such as chain saws.

    Cons

There are somewhat limited opportunities to move up into a management position. There have been a number of very talented individuals who looked like they were in a position to move up and after several opportunities passed them by, they took the talents elsewhere.
Vacation policy is very poor even after recent enhancement. Vacation is accrued on a month by month basis. Not immediate after the first of the year. Vacation time does not carry over into next year either.

    Advice to Management

Improve the vacation policy for professional employees. Compare to other companies in area. Look at Freightliner, Rockwell Collins and Duke for comparisons.

I have been working at Husqvarna full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay, better than decent benefits. Culture is fun, engaging and promotes teamwork. Enjoy and respect the new executive management as they show respect to their employees.

    Cons

Systems are antiquated and sometimes hinder production. Positive culture can be derailed by a bad supervisor, which are few and far between.

    Advice to Management

    Encourage promotion from within.

    Pros

Good colleagues who share same frustrations

    Cons

Company is disorganized with no process for things to get done - everything is done "on the fly". Management is so results-focused that they fail to take care of the employees' well-being

    Advice to Management

Take better care of the employees

I worked at Husqvarna full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The atmosphere in ride-on engineering is pretty good. Some very nice people in general. The company has good respect for a work/life balance. You were allowed to do your job without being micromanaged.

    Cons

Lack of formal training, especially for the people fresh from college. Pay was slightly below average, but always had to fight to even get that. The benefits are not very good.

    Advice to Management

Fight to keep the people around that want to be there and treat them fairly.

I worked at Husqvarna full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    The regular workers are nice.

    Cons

Management is awful and no one there cares about the people who work there. I was there for 18 years(not a lot of options here). Getting fired while on medical leave was the best thing that ever happened to me.

    Advice to Management

Try being good to your employees.
