I have been working at Hy-Vee part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Different personalities, wonderful co-workers/ managers, great start on learning how to cook.

    Cons

Picky customers, changing schedule, no enforcement on rules, employees do not last long

    Advice to Management

Easy to get along with , however, enforce rules. Listen to all employees equally when they offer advice to improve things in the restaurant

I have been working at Hy-Vee full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers are nice, cafeteria is good and cheap.

    Cons

No work-life balance. They keep talking about how you see your co-workers more than your family. Very strict schedule and full-time is 45hrs minimum (but really more like 55+). Company cars for travel break down all the time. Not upfront about hours and travel.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you let employees know what they are getting into before they change jobs to come to this company.

I worked at Hy-Vee (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay is good, considering they start you out above minimum wage. That is about the only decent thing working with HyVee.

    Cons

Management does not communicate well with each other or the employees, and you are always expected to pick up someone else's slack.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with each other and employees, listen to the complaints employees are making and take some action to make your department work better.
