I have been working at Hyatt full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great employee benefits, colleagues are extremely friendly and welcoming, free meal everyday & the relationship between employees and owner is great.

    Cons

Very difficult to introduce new ways of working to with over 20++ years working in this hotel. And this old hotel has lots of them.

I worked at Hyatt as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Deals with variety of guests and you will learn a lot how to deal with these guests. There will be orientations and mentors will guide you through the day for almost 2 weeks. You will be working with many people with tremendous amounts of experience so you will learn a lot.

    Cons

Very standardized and you can't wiggle inside the company so much. your learning sometimes are limited. The training can be sometimes a challenge because the hotel is so busy and your learning time would be cut off due to high guest demands. You just have to be super initiative and learn by yourself.

    Advice to Management

Interns are not trained yet so give them a chance to learn during the slow season to avoid high guest complaints even though trainees are aware that franchised hotels are afraid to gain complaints and lowering its standards.

I worked at Hyatt as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

I get a lot of knowledge working there, they encourage me to learn by trying. I remember one of the assistant FnB director told me to not be afraid of making mistake after I apologize to him for spilling hot tea to customer.

    Cons

Poor career opportunities in FnB, the majority of people work at the Hyatt I'm talking about have been working there since more than 20 years ago, and still in waiter/waitress position. Also, they don't have a good orientation program, when I started, they brought me straight into the restaurant without explaining more about the hotel. The pay for new employee is also kind of sad.

    Advice to Management

Paying attention to the older and more senior employee will be good, if they don't have what it takes to get promoted then maybe the management could get more training for them.
