Greatly underpaid for all the responsibilities we have and the performance level we give.

    Cons

Depending on department there are people in leadership positions who don't care about getting to know the teams they are leading

Get to know your staff. It'll make them feel appreciated and cared about. Use their names. Employees who feel appreciated always do better at work.

I worked at Hyatt full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Hyatt has a great culture of values and also an extensive associate benefit plan. The company goes above and beyond for its associates, and ensures a great working environment.

    Cons

Very little work-life balance in department head role. Expected long hours, and had a very tight budget line. Became very frustrating when trying to achieve goals.

    Advice to Management

They need to understand all properties need to be treated equally, and budget constraints play a large role in the success, or lack thereof, of a hotel.

    I worked at Hyatt part-time

    Pros

Work schedule was generally pretty flexible. Management was fun to work for.

    Cons

Nothing very significant comes to mind. Shifts can take place over odd hours, but that is just the nature of the job.
