I worked at Hyatt full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good money during busy seasons
Nothing about it was difficult or complex
A lot of down time while customers are eating
Banquet's management/ supervisors were excellent. Always hands-on and they weren't afraid to help the employees with any problem that arose.

    Cons

When busy, had to work triple shifts 3 days in a row, although this was a rare occurrence. During the slow season you would be lucky to work 3-4 shifts all week. Management of the hotel, in general, is god awful. No organization, poor leadership, always put the blame on everyone else but themselves. This location is a training hotel for a lot of management and directors, so the lack of experience definitely ties into what I mentioned above.

    Advice to Management

CARE FOR YOUR EMPLOYEES. LET THEM KNOW YOU APPRECIATE THEIR HARD WORK. LISTEN TO WHAT THE EMPLOYEES HAVE TO SAY INSTEAD OF ASSUMING YOU KNOW BETTER THAN THEM. Before you hand orders down through your managers to the employees, make sure you are present in the hotel bar/restaurant and understand the daily operations before making major changes that severely affect the staff.

I worked at Hyatt full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great employee perks with discounted hotel stays and discounts on other properties.

    Cons

Management is confused. Not clear directions from the top down. Training is a mess and support from management was spotty, to say the least. However, the Top Management has changed since I worked at the property. Pay is terrible.

    Advice to Management

Listen to those working the front lines on how to better run this property. All calls shouldn't go through the front desk with the volume of tasks given to the front desk staff. They are set up for failure.

    Pros

Above minimum wage. Really nothing special.

    Cons

I have worked here for several years and this is the worst employer I have ever had, on so many levels. Why am I still here? I ask myself that question everyday.

    Advice to Management

Try actually practicing that grandiose Mission you preach...I'm still waiting to witness your Mission statement in action towards 'all the PEOPLE.' Perhaps that's why I'm still here.

I have been working at Hyatt full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Breakfast is good..Nd its laid back. A little too laid back but it's alrite

    Cons

I'd be embarrassed to have this Hyatt even represent the company period. This by far the worst Hyatt location I've been or had to work for

    Advice to Management

Actually be involved with your employees and introduce them to the company.. Don't Jst throw them in there and not know anything about the job. Benefit and discount and insurance wise you didn't have an orientation you have us walking around looking like rag dolls. No uniform for us or anything. Got alot of immigrants working there.. No one is liscenced correctly for tabc or servsafe
