I have been working at Hyatt full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hyatt is an awesome hospitality company. being rather smaller than Hilton and Marriott - you are able to move up the ladder rather quickly if you do well in your respective roles. They believe in promoting from within and truly developing their workforce to maximal potential. Also they lead the effort in cultural diversity and inclusion for hospitality companies.

    Cons

Some of their practices are a bit ancient - all depends on your upper management if they welcome a more modern and broad approach to work/ life balance and how you do business.

    Advice to Management

Look for the strong skill-sets within your staff and build on that. Encourage them to highlight what they are good at and encourage feedback on how to do the job well from different perspectives. Be open to doing business differently and managing millennials who have loyal capabilities but want variety in the workplace.

I worked at Hyatt full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits- most people I talked to had stayed on because of the benefits, not so much the pay or the environment.

Once you did your time in the position you were hired for (usually 6 mos. or 1 year), you could request to transfer to any Hyatt in the world as long as you fit the criteria.

    Cons

It got old after a week.

    Advice to Management

Train your management on leadership and management, not just how to 'tell' employees to do something
