    Great team, amazing work ethics, company values and products are amazing.

    Cons

    Expectations are really high otherwise, there are no cons as such.

    Advice to Management

    Great job, keep it up. Very welcoming and a perfect corporate experience for students enrolled in universities.

    None that I can think of. This place will drain you. I have to write a few more words? Uhhh

    Cons

    I only saw cons while working here. To sum up the amalgamation of cons let's just say stay away from this place.

    I worked at Hydro One (More than a year)

    Pros

    Company culture is probably one of the best in North America
    Job is very secure
    Very easy path to get promotions and pay rise
    They have a mentor-ship programs which allows all New Grad Engineers to get assigned mentors which really helps

    Cons

    A lot of last minute work that happens in the Distribution network which could get really stressful at times
    A bit old school regarding work discipline, for example, management disapproval for starting work later than 8 AM.
    There is a lot of politics within the company, especially regarding new hiring of university/college graduates which could be annoying for some people.

    You must be assertive, otherwise you will not get the best work.

    Pros

    The company provides great benefits. Good working hours and emphasis on worker safety. Accomodating management will enable employees to get access to tools needed in order for them to succeed on the job.

    Cons

    Depending on role, jobs can often become mundane since many tasks and duties require repitition. Of course this applies only after one gets accustomed to their respective role.

    Advice to Management

    More training and enrolement of employees in further education would be benifiial to help company grow.

    Pros

    Good wage, Good people, lots of training. Ability to move within the company.
    Work days are relaxed

    Cons

    lots of travel, away 4 days a week. Distance of displacement can be from 1hr to 5hrs away from home.
    Become stuck in the transmission field with no way of leaving

    I worked at Hydro One full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Amazing work life balance
    - Flexible hours
    - Incredible health/life benefits/insurance
    - Defined Benefit Pension Plan (until 2016)
    - LOTS of opportunities for training and conferences
    - Moderate - but not great - pay

    Cons

    - UNION! No one does more than bare minimum (or much less, actually) because engineers are protected by the Society.
    - Progression and rewards not based on merit, but on the buddy system.

    Advice to Management

    - Employ a performance system that takes performance into account! I wouldn't have left if not for this reason.
