      Pros

Hyland is an amazing company that truly cares about you and your success. Amazing training program, great people, and high potential for growth within the company.

      Cons

Compensation is a bit less than some competitors, but they make up for it with all of the perks and work/life balance.

      Pros

Great co-workers and managers Work life balance where they actually push you to balance your life and be happy both mentally and physically. They make it easy to make healthy life choices (and some maybe not so healthy) with the on-site gym, constant social events, meditation opportunities and 3 diners, all with a salad! There is a real effort to do the right work. You're pushed to complete your work, but in a way that allows you to complete it the right way and not hurry just to get it done. Career guidance and growth and learning opportunities are all around.

      Cons

No real cons at the moment, but I do have some concerns as the company grows. From what I can tell, they've been able to balance growth with the old culture and keep things that matter around. As the company continues to grow, I hope they don't lose sight of what got them to this point and keep this an amazing place to work.

      A great place to grow

      Pros

Hyland has a work environment that is unrivaled. There is no place quite like it. Incredibly kind and accepting people who are pleasant to work with. A healthy work-life balance is a primary focal point which takes most of the stress out of the 9 to 5 work routine. Advancement opportunities are very common to all employees including myself, a new hire and recent college graduate.

      Cons

The only negative I can think of is that it is a huge learning curve for new hires, but that is to be expected with any company.

Decent Gate Into IT, Poor Choice For Career

Jul 23, 2019 - Technical Support Analyst in Olathe, KS

      Pros

Pretty relaxed day to day Very little micromanaging Fun social environment Regular office parties Work/Life balance is positive Competitive pay at the Olathe office

      Cons

A lot changed for former Lexmark/Perceptive employees when Hyland bought us, and unfortunately for the worse. We had a great system with very happy employees and customers prior to the buyout, but unfortunately Hyland's push to force us to adopt their company culture has come at the cost of that customer/employee satisfaction. The reality is that Lexmark/Perceptive had it right in the software department, and Hyland has shown an unwillingness to adopt some of the better practices we had into their company culture. It very much feels like an "us versus them" environment, even though the buyout happened over a year ago. Some of the other cons include: Very poor PTO benefits (they claim this is "industry standard", but I have yet to find another company that offers so little time off in the IT field) No dedicated sick time Managers don't foster employee growth Very poor and redundant system processes that are constantly being reworked for the worse

      Management in disarray

      Pros

Work life balance is good. Work from home in some instances. The overall atmosphere and culture of the company is positive (the same can't be said about the IT/Information Systems department though). Benefits are pretty good.

      Cons

Management. At least in the IT/Information Systems department. Lots of favoritism, bias, and politics go into the decision making that ultimately hurts the employees. Most end up feeling underappreciated and get tired of the constant artificial roadblocks management puts in the way of getting work done and leave. Which results in more work to do with less people, which results in more unhappy employees who leave. Not to mention the pay is significantly under the local average and somehow the work life balance is supposed to compensate for that. Management is probably the primary reason I'd recommend a friend not apply and go somewhere else.

Great for headquarter staff, disconnected for remote staff

      Pros

Great benefits, work/life balance, good overall culture

      Cons

Inconsistent and sudden changes in commission plans, quotas. Remote staff do not have nearly the same access to resources and management support as those at headquarters.
