I have been working at Hypebeast

    Pros

Friendly, social work environment. Lot's of parties, free clothes and stuff. The perfect place to work with respected brands and industry heavy hitters. You can increase your network here very easily.

    Cons

Low wages compared to an insane workload. Few benefits. Management does it's best, but it doesn't provide opportunity for real growth. A dead end job.

    Advice to Management

Stop taking your employees for granted. Stop being so cheap. Provide basic amenities to your employees

I worked at Hypebeast full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

You're expected to do the work of multiple people, so you will pick up many skills along the way.

    Cons

Perhaps everything comes down to management, this is everyone in management's first rodeo, thus no one really knows what they're doing / have no actual managerial skills. There is absolutely no advancement, even though you're expected to work 24/7, for pay that just does not warrant that. CEO installs his friends into senior roles or makes up roles for his friends. The nepotism results in a not very diverse upper management...

I worked at Hypebeast full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

    Clout, network, and occasional freebies.

    Cons

You will be underpaid and overworked. Interns and editorial assistants are taken advantage of at every turn, in terms of salary. Everything is lost in middle management. Your managers will have little to no experience in their field beyond this company. Most are passive-aggressive; everything is conducted on Slack. CEO is nepotistic, hires his friends on a whim. Little to no explanation is given for sudden changes in...

        I worked at Hypebeast full-time

        Pros

        - Free clothes and shoes every now and then - Friendly co-workers - Promotions aren’t that hard to come by because turnover rate is so high

        Cons

        - Most people in management positions aren’t experienced/ knowledgable enough in their respective fields - The environment doesn’t encourage staff to perform. You won’t get better compansated for doing well or penalised for doing an average job. There are people in certain positions who will steal credits and push blames. - Extremely disorganised organisation chart. Many people are not doing what they are supposed...
