I worked at Hyundai Capital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and great product to represent.

    Cons

Instability at executive and managerial levels. Risks runs everything. Light years behind technologically. They still are on a main frame based system that is probably 20 years old and archaic. No incentive for thinking out of the box. Management expects more and more and salaries are stagnant. The good people generally are gone by 3 to 5 years.

    Advice to Management

Act like a captive. Support your dealers. More plans and programs are not always better. Allow your dealers to make money and sell cars.

I worked at Hyundai Capital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Leasing program, insurance benefits, gym, nice building, contest, family day, telecommuting in some departments. You get to a chance to win a trip to anywhere you want to go.

    Cons

No room for promotion unless you're a favorite. No matter how good your production is, you will be stuck. It's better to move on to another employer that will value your work, and not how much to suck up to them. I'm so happy I left. Best decision ever!

    Advice to Management

When making decisions, remove your emotions. Stop hanging out with your favorite employees and posting it on Facebook. Then when that employee gets promoted, you wonder why everyone is screaming favoritism. Stop micromanaging your top performers. You need them! I never thought Hyundai would become a revolving door company. Since I've left, over a dozen have followed. Step it up management. I'm too embarrassed to even refer anyone there, because I know what the outcome will be.

I worked at Hyundai Capital full-time

    Pros

The pay is decent if you go from temp to hire.

    Cons

Their policies are not customer care related. It's all about their control over the employee. The employee is treated like a puppet on a string which causes more stress than the job itself.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like they are people. The cookie cutter and statistic style management is not working. You are loosing good people.
The majority of the supervisors and managers that are in place were not selected for their knowledge but for how well they can line up like a wooden toy soldiers. Training for these supervisors and managers on sensitivity and personality will probably make a difference.
The surveys that are taken by the employees are not confidential and the responses are untruths to keep their jobs.
Upper managers leave and come back with the same results or worst. You should know by now that if you keep doing the same thing you will get the same results.
The morale is at an all time low due to the uncertainty of the company direction. When you see internal job postings don't get your hopes up unless you are kissing up. You may get a lateral move. Outsourcing is not the answer Your customer's don't like it and your employees spend more time cleaning up the mess.
