I worked at IAV Automotive Engineering full-time

    Pros

The company is very good and treats its employees very well. There are great benefits and there is also much support if you want to move across the company to different department. Management does the best that it can to support employees in their growth.

    Cons

The company scatters its contract employees which makes iAV more of a satellite establishment.

    Advice to Management

Have more monthly meetings with contracted employees to go over work progress.

I have been working at IAV Automotive Engineering full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is a lot of freedom to try and do things the way you want to. The company encourages its employees to be creative and develop tools & methods that might be helpful. You don't have to be a part of a process, you can define how you do your work. If you need help, they will get you in contact with technical experts from Germany. It is a great place to learn.

    Cons

Its is a developing company so pay package is not the maximum a person can get but the work culture is outstanding and the benefits package is very good. Overall I don't think there is a big con.

I worked at IAV Automotive Engineering (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexibility, time off, health insurance.

It's a good company for entry level since you can learn a lot from colleagues, and you can get exposed to different areas (based on your luck).

    Cons

No bonus, 401K match isn't enough, they don't go through with their promises, and there isn't enough control of budget in the US all the big decisions come from Germany.

    Advice to Management

Remember that you make the most of your profit from entry level engineers.

I have been working at IAV Automotive Engineering full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent PTO and vacation flexibility. Some great people to work with.

    Cons

Very little career growth. The management does not stick to their word, so better get everything in writing. These days they are just hiring people needing visas or get folks over from Germany so they stick with the company longer.

    Advice to Management

You need to do what you say you will do. You should think of why the attrition rate is so high.

    Pros

Goof PTO quantity. Everyone is friendly and nice.

    Cons

Top heavy organization. Too many managers and too less engineers. Very poor on-boarding process. Move you tremendously. Poor work load distribution. Expects employee to be master of everything.

    Advice to Management

Stop asking employment contracts and instead find ways to get 360 degree feedback to figure out what employee needs in order to retain best workforce.

I worked at IAV Automotive Engineering full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The coworkers are very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, a lot of us are working at customer sites, therefore the contact is limited.

    Cons

The company is struggling in the market place. The turn-over is tremendously, probably because of a missing strategy. Engineers get laid off while the automobile industry is thriving.

    Advice to Management

The lack of honesty and trust is root cause of the struggling company. There is no strategy on how to grow or where to go. Get your act together.
