I worked at IBM full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Decent benefits. Getting into a new, growing account is better than a sustaining, established account where objectives tend to shift sharply from quality and customer service to financial targets and staff reduction.

    Cons

IBMers do not receive great raises. Periodic layoff cycles are always looming, especially after accounts are up and performing.

I worked at IBM full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    - Working with some very smart and talented people on interesting and challenging problems. - It looks good on your resume. - Working from home is allowed.

    Cons

    - With layoffs every 6-9 months it is hard to stay motivated and focused. - Very political organization with internal teams competing with one another. - It seems like the higher up the food chain you go, the less common sense you find. - Short sighted obsession with cost cutting and outsourcing. - No vision for the future, too much red tape. - This company is simply too big to succeed

    Advice to Management

Find a way to motivate people, fear of loosing a job is not a good motivator.

Love the co workers..lots of hard working people. Good location. Great benefits..lots of paid time off.

    Cons

Management, does not have a clue. Need to fire some if them. The systems do not work well. Makes departments have to do work 2 and 3 times

    Advice to Management

Listen to the loan officers. Fix the system issues. Hire from within the departments.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at IBM full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

opportunities to learn and build experiences, worked with great companies as a consultant, travel perks,

    Cons

metrics based evaluations- utilization is all that matters, ibm no longer builds the relationship with their clients, it all about billing them more, management is disconnected and there are too many layers , expect a 3-5 year work window with ibm - learn as much as you can with them as your next employer will reap the benefits of your skillset

    Advice to Management

reevaluate the blue page manager format, there are no trimester reviews,
