Pros
Great people for the most part to work with on internal teams as well as clients. Working from home is great as well.
Cons
Everyone works in fear of losing their jobs and it is terrible for morale. They get rid of people and don't replace them so less sales support.

Pros
Great training & experience not found elsewhere.
Cons
Work life balance, too many cutbacks no security, no advancement opportunities. Just another job at another place & you leave when the perks quit coming.
Advice to Management
Listen to the employees. We are not just . Another number on a spreadsheet.

Pros
The people I worked with were some of the finest I have ever met and I made some friends for life. Great training and could pretty much go to as much as I wanted.
Cons
No raises. Unreasonable Quota increases. Constant threat of being laid off. IBM has been chasing EPS at the cost of its employees and customers. I still cant figure out how IBM expects to have a good 4Q after repurposing 500 of its Enterprise Customer Sales Reps and not backfilling the positions for over 9 months now.
Advice to Management
Invest in correcting employee moral and compensate fairly. Care about your customers again.

Doesn't RecommendI worked at IBM
Pros
Experience and exposure to all types of businesses and situations.Training that used to be second to none.It still looks good on your resume to have a stint with IBM. Benefits are a little better than smaller companies but have been shrinking. You might get lucky and wind up in a situation where promotion or growth is possible.
Cons
No advancement potential, very top heavy in management, too much supervision when it is not necessary. Management roulette practiced by the company, you have a different manager every 6-9 months and rarely get to know their hot buttons. The company is a bureaucracy out of control and rarely changes its ineffiecent procedures.
Advice to Management
Listen to and respect your employees. Streamlone you operations.

Approves of CEOI have been working at IBM
Pros
Whilst promotion is often terrible if you stay in the same job group, IBM is such a large company that there is always an opportunity to move elsewhere if you're prepared to step out of the 'comfort zone' The support from your colleagues and team members is usually excellent and wherever possible there is a great deal of flexibility in hours and locations worked.
Cons
Its a large company... The same thing that makes for a wide range of job options has also meant that the company is suffering from excessive red tape and is frequently far too process led.
Advice to Management
Flatten the hierachy and get ALL management much nearer the customers. Before introducing yet another process/rule, check what difference it'll make to the poor customers trying to do business with us.
