I have been working at IBM full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I'm a new father and took advantage of the existing Parental Leave program that was available to us in the US. With the old program, it was 6 weeks of paid leave. With the new program, IBM dads and moms are now entitled to 12 weeks of paid leave. This program doesn't utilize your vacation days. So if you have vacation days, those days are still entitled to you. This is the primary reason I'm spending some time on writing this review.

Employee discounts. I honestly didn't know this existed till I started navigated the maze of wiki sites we have (see Con below). It was pretty nice that we had access to discounts from electronics to things like Disney park.

    Cons

    * Bonuses and raises are slim to none.
    * Team members are also concerned about losing the ability to work from home.
    * A lot of systems to navigate and old systems that are still in use that need to be replaced
    * 401k matching isn't done till the last paycheck of the year

I worked at IBM full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

IBM has tons of great technology, and many great people, and is, in general, very well thought of by customers.

    Cons

The various elements of the sales organization don't really work together much at all. At a high level, the company keeps reorganizing sales coverage, and make the comp plan more complex and less lucrative.

    Advice to Management

Focus on creating stability for both customers and employees, particularly by stabilizing account assignments and customer relationships.

I worked at IBM full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

IBM is a large company with many types of software projects.

    Cons

Employee review rating percentage is dictated from above to manage head count. This is an unfair process. Sometimes managers are forced to give good engineers a poor review rating number just to manage head count.

    Advice to Management

    Change the review process.
