    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at IBM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Somewhat flexible, other than that, nothing else.

    Cons

Hard to get motivated, sub par compensation. People worried about out sourcing , low morale.

    Advice to Management

Just make IBMers comfortable, many of us do not care about salary increase, we know it is not possible, just don't mess up again trying to make particular quarter look good by making another "strange" decision, such as increase outsourcing for that particular quarter. What management doesn't realize is in the long term, you messed up that product and some products are generating good revenue.

    Pros

IBM is a great place to work if you want a stable job where you don't have to work too hard. You could do well working 9am - 5pm and slowly making your way up the food chain. It's also very easy to hide out in a role for years without anybody looking too closely at you.

    Cons

Everything moves slow slow slow. Forget about pushing anything through quickly.

    Advice to Management

Help people challenge themselves. If somebody wants to switch roles, figure out how to let them go without hurting your team. Keeping people down is the best way to lose them.
