They have a large think tank with many IBM employees volunteering to teach their speciality

I worked at IBM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great project opportunities for travel, if desired. Good education and training available, classroom, on-line or documents.

    Cons

The consulting arena is changing at IBM. Challenging to find new projects as resource managers are located off-shore and not readily available for individual assistance in finding new projects and reducing bench time. Shift toward University by Degree consultants with a lower billable rate rather than experience seasoned consultants.

    Advice to Management

In the Consulting world, the utilization goals need to be realistic. Managers need to help staff find new projects.
