I worked at IBM as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

People, workplace, location, the work itself (if you're passionate about it), salary, and learning opportunities. I've made some connections and friends that will last me a lifetime and learned so much about the software development lifecycle. They're also pretty flexible on vacations, but that was my experience it might be different for a different manager

    Cons

Lots of red-tape, and during my time there was a bunch of news concerning layoffs and the like. Priority was given to people who have worked there for a while, and there's little room for salary bumps even if you do a good job.

I worked at IBM as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Salary near $47K/year, nice campus, good game room, on-site gym
    Very active internship group.

    Cons

Not much team motivation, while on test team just ran scripts all day, not much understanding of underlying concepts

    Advice to Management

Consider having some training sessions which give new interns basic understanding of code problems, what type of problems, what are some examples, what are the effects, and how to write meaningful scripts to detect these problems.

I have been working at IBM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Can work from home (depends if your manager allows it)
-Smart people everywhere and you can ask questions and they'll help you out
-Awesome manager who will acknowledge your work if you let them by working hard, doing your best.
-Great salary (I was paid $22.05/hr) whereas you will not get that much paid anywhere else
-Job was awesome too and enjoyed every bit of it. I felt like going to work every single day and was the happiest person ever.

    Cons

-Students are not respected at all and they're seen as if they can take on burden and burden of work.
-Some irrelevant work is given too like filling out forms and charts
-some people get annoyed pretty easily over student's mistake (ie. the managers at the top of the chain)
-if you don't impress your manager from the beginning, your manager will never like you
-No benefits (but hey, it's not like you get benefits elsewhere either)
    -Can't take vacation

    Advice to Management

    -recognize that students have potential.

I worked at IBM as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great place for a first co-op
Very high salary compared to average
    Smart people to learn from
Lots of students; depending on your team, you may get to work with students

    Cons

Bureaucracy limits your potential but also minimizes the risk that you bring as an inexperienced student

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up
