I worked at IBM full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Up to 5% 401k match. Plus they give 1% even if you don't put in anything. So, if you put in 5% you'll get a 6% match.

    Cons

Integration of companies they've acquired is non-existent. They sent out a few welcome to the family emails that discussed on boarding and had a few webinars and that was about it. Very painful trying to get the systems integrated. Based on what I hear from long term employees I think they were previously a better company then they seem to be now. They let older, seasoned (expensive) employees go and bring in young...

I have been working at IBM for less than a year

    Pros

IBM is a good place for internship, the work is flexible, on Friday, I only need work for 0.5 day due to a flexible Friday program in Summer. And most of my teammate are Band 9 engineers, they have rich experience in software development field. I can learn much from them

    Cons

The wage is less than Amazon, google

    Advice to Management

no comment since my manager is very nice, my teammember are also pretty nice

I have been working at IBM full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

We'll established systems that work really well. Expense reimbursements are pretty much clockwork. Travel agency does a good job.

    Cons

Second straight year with 10,000+ layoffs or resource actions as they call it. Layoffs seemed to be random since some people had 75%+utilization and already booked on projects for most of current year but they were still laid off. They also had good performance ratings the past few years. Too much self service and hard to get a hold of competent people to help with questions. Must rely on your own network to get some...

    Advice to Management

Better compensation. Instead of mass layoffs how about spending some time identifying good employees to retrain. Figure out what direction you want to take because current 7 year plan does not seem to be working.
