I have been working at IBM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Work life balance and great co workers

    Cons

This is not the same company I started in. The morale is very low, no one is happy. You spend all your time in recent years just waiting to be laid off, it’s extremely frustrating. Increases are non existent and you are paid well below average. The Assistants are also treated with zero respect from management. Look elsewhere if you want to grow within a company!

    Advice to Management

Senior management needs to change. This company is turning sour with the current CEO.

I have been working at IBM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers and the ability to work at a global level. Lots of flexibility to make your job your own.

    Cons

Not the same company it used to be. More concerned about the shareholders than employee sat. Many, many company benefits have been taken away little by little over the years. There's no job security anymore either, little by little they are finding very creative ways to get rid of employees to please the shareholders so lots of employees now jumping ship (including executives).

    Advice to Management

Management is fine, its the CEO and Sr. Execs turning this company sour.

I worked at IBM (More than a year)

    Pros

When you are given time (which isn't much at all) to learn, you can learn valuable tools for your various work assignments.

    Cons

Over the course of my 14 years there, the morale just plummeted. Spent the last three years every quarter waiting on a lay-off cycle. In order to keep your job you have to compete against your coworkers, so teaming is a foreign concept.

    Advice to Management

The PBC tool is a JOKE. You all know what we're getting as a rating LONG before we submit results. Stop torturing us all year long and taking time away from our jobs to spend time giving you information you already know anyway

I worked at IBM as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The Work from home program

    Cons

Never knew day to day if you would get laid off. Very fast and frequent turnover.

    Advice to Management

More Incentives for contractors and give an opportunity to go permanent, especially the hard working and loyal Admins.

    Advice to Management

    Fight for your employees
