I have been working at IBM full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great vacation benefits
    Flexibility(depending on manager)
    Workshops and skill builders encouraged
High levels of management push to meet Rochester employees

    Cons

Rochester is a small city for people trying to build a family.
Pay is low, since it's not a large city, but makes living in the Med city more difficult(high prices for social life)
    Huge overall company

    Advice to Management

Continue to empower your employees, it's what's kept me here

I worked at IBM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Worked remotely from home for 5 years(worked on site for first 6 years), awesome colleagues, great team collaboration, some opportunities for growth.

    Cons

There is no pleasing SOME higher-ups, unfair pay structure meaning....colleagues in same department with same exact responsibilities making 25-30k more, yes they had been there longer, but as I was there over time I expected to EARN my way up the pay structure and that did not happen....NOT EVEN CLOSE!! And YES I was a team contributor, team collaborator, going above and beyond, a subject matter expert for multiple systems and tools, and an education facilitator.

I would love to say more but I believe in karma!

    Advice to Management

    n/a

I worked at IBM as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Learn at your own pace. Take on as much work as you would like.
IBM always an easy connection to any and all employees/co-workers. So I recommend utilizing this resource and you will have endless opportunity.
A broad overview of the federal division.
You don't feel like an intern.

    Cons

    Independent atmosphere.
You must have high adaptability and learn quickly. (Pro for me, maybe con for others)
A lot of department works from home so you really only communicate through email/messaging platform. Which can be tough at times. I like to collaborate in person for the most part.
