I worked at IBM full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

IBM has excellent benefits and it is possible to change jobs and stay with the company - if you work at it.

    Cons

IBM "blue-washing" of newly acquired companies is a slow process. You will have to be assertive to look within the company for other opportunities. Whatever your bonus target is - count on 20 to 30% .. that's the way they work.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees as resources - not as a source of cheap labor.

I worked at IBM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very organized and methodic in all approaches.

    Cons

Extremely impersonal with very high expectations for performance and little reward for achievement.

    Advice to Management

Up and coming career seekers - good choice. Long term professionals - negotiate well before being hired in. Internal process lock down opportunities. Great for conformists...not so great for idealists.
