Tech Giant. You wont get noticed until and unless you do something extra ordinary.

I worked at IBM for more than a year

      Pros

I learned a lot about the day-to-day experience as a software developer. Everyone was really nice and and willing to answer and questions you may have. There were opportunities to collaborate and talk to swe's all over the country remotely, so there's an abundance of knowledge to gain.

      Cons

Housing was a bit tough to find, but I think that was more so a consequence of location.

      Advice to Management

      Allow "shadowing" days.

I worked at IBM for more than a year

          Pros

          Nice coworkers, relaxed environment,

          Cons

Not enough for me to do. It seems like I was thrust upon a team unexpectedly. If I had spent more than a summer there, I think they would have trained me to do more work and utilized me better. Really not their fault

I worked at IBM for more than a year

          Pros

Learn at your own pace. Take on as much work as you would like. IBM always an easy connection to any and all employees/co-workers. So I recommend utilizing this resource and you will have endless opportunity. A broad overview of the federal division. You don't feel like an intern.

          Cons

Independent atmosphere. You must have high adaptability and learn quickly. (Pro for me, maybe con for others) A lot of department works from home so you really only communicate through email/messaging platform. Which can be tough at times. I like to collaborate in person for the most part.

          Negative Outlook

I worked at IBM for more than 2 years

          Pros

          * Good work/life balance. * Good work facilities. * Extremely knowledgeable colleagues.

          Cons

          * Distance from anything means you're stuck with the expensive cafeteria or BYO. * Difficult commute from NYC to Yorktown Heights. * Company keeps missing revenue projections each quarter. How long can that last?
