I have been working at IBM full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

In addition to being a part of a global technology company that actually creates products and gets patents, IBM has many programs for employees to help families, working parents, and those that want to grow themselves. One that I recently participated in was the IBM Corporate Service Corps which is IBMs Corporate Service Responsibility initiative. After being accepted into the program, my team was deployed to India for one month to work with a non-profit to help farmers get their corps to market and get a fair price. This program sends IBMers all over the world to assist with global business problems. It's a perk for employees and another way in which IBM is helping the world.

    Cons

All corporate jobs have bureaucracy, and IBM is no different. You learn to accept re-orgs every year (seems like) and things are always changing. Lot's of new products and services to keep track of, but it keeps you learning.

I worked at IBM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You'll learn everything there is to know about technology and big companies. It serves as a great training ground to someone wanting to cut their teeth on how the technology business operates.

    Cons

Nothing new here....pay is well below other technology companies unless you are a high level Director or VP of a certain division.

    Advice to Management

Cut the fat and pay the people who are doing the work a fare wage!!!!

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at IBM full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Laid back atmosphere. Lots of things to eat and plenty of hot chocolate.

    Cons

Atmosphere seemed juvenile at times. Not very professional. Also, the philandering got very distracting. It puts you in an awkward situation when someone in a Senior position has an affair with a fellow intern and is not that discreet about it.

    Advice to Management

Filter people better. Those in Senior positions should not be dating interns. Frankly, it is unprofessional and looks bad on the company as a whole.
