    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at IBM full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Work on big projects, good training lots of travel opportunities. Great technology. Incredible brand value. Good access to industry experts.

    Cons

IBM's size make it hard to grow which stresses employees. They used to allow people to work remotely, as that changed they are losing many of their best talent especially in marketing.

    Advice to Management

Allow skilled people to contribute instead of making job cookie cutter and forcing one size fits all approach.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at IBM full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Team mates were great to work with.

    Cons

Low pay for what they expected from me. Management convinces themselves that they know what they are doing, then execute on stupid blunders that damages IBM and their clients.

    Advice to Management

Stop pretending like you know what you are doing an ask front line personnel how to best serve the client. Stop trying to view the REAL world via numbers on an excel spreadsheet and then make blind decisions with out inspecting what is going on in the REAL world. If you wish to continue to fail; keep doing what you are doing.

I worked at IBM for more than 10 years

    Pros

IBM has a heritage of being a technology leader and developing many amazing products. In addition, IBM has traditionally been very supportive of its employees.

    Cons

Too much middle management - top leadership has no concept of reality due to being insulated by a middle management team that only answers to "Yes". The result is unrealistic goals for the Sales Teams as well as dated products. This once great company is in the midst of another transition -- only time will tell whether or not it will return to its once former self (in terms of ethics and dedication to its employees).

    Advice to Management

Stop catering to Wall Street, focus on what made you great -- people and products. With this magic formula, the potential positive results will in the end, make Wall Street happy.

  4. "Software Client Leader (SCL)"

Former Employee - Software Sales Representative in Little Rock, AR

      I worked at IBM full-time

      Pros

Vast portfolio of products. Great pool of resources to tap for expertise.

      Cons

Management - totally driven by transaction oriented business versus focusing on building long lasting client relationships.

      Advice to Management

Invest in your people - stop making constant changes every 6 months. Clients have little confidence in their Sales Team being long lasting.
