I have been working at IBM full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Amazing company with a culture of innovation, in continuous transformation, leader in AI, Blockchain, and strong position in the battle for the cloud. Salaries are competitive for the industry, there are endless opportunities to grow within the company, nice people, hands off leadership, many more benefits, overall great company to work for.

    Cons

continuous change can be challenging for many people to embrace and adapt and then change again (change of clients, territories, products on the portfolios, managers, leadership, go to market strategy, new products, new teams ETC) = change, change, change, be ready for it. If you can deal with it (I personally find it engaging), then you are in good hands

    Advice to Management

we need to double down on marketing, there are many internal inefficiencies, but overall nice people leading the company, and good place to work.

I have been working at IBM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Flexibility of work life balance and work from home options
    - Great sources of resources, connections to help build career
    - Surrounded by very intellectual people that can help you grow your skills and learn new ones

    Cons

    - Constant Travel
    - In the beginning, project staffing is luck of the draw
    - dog eat dog mentality as no one is going to hold your hand to learn, must put yourself out there to be noticed
    - Training is a bit weak

    Advice to Management

Focus on new hires getting placed on important foundational projects. Build better training for CbD to prepare early consultants for future projects.

I worked at IBM full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

It’s a job. Better than being unemployed. Sort of.

    Cons

Worked in Sales for 10 years. It used to be great. Some of the best products in the market , great culture, etc. It’s now deteriorated into a toxic culture , employees are miserable , the company that once cared about its people now could not care less about them. If you are older worker you’ll be pushed out the door soon enough. But younger workers as your replacement ? They only last a couple years because it’s a terrible place to work

As a Sales Rep you can be only as good as your products and they have let their products go to crap and aren’t even recognized as remote contenders in most areas because they are so outdated and bad.

I had to leave because the toxic and stressful culture became too much to bear any longer.

Company is lost. Pushing best people out the door while Mgt remains stale and useless .

    Advice to Management

Your maniacal focus on Wall Street above all else has led you to destroy what was once a great company. Please finish running it into the ground sooner rather than later.

PS - your employees hate being here. It’s punching a clock type job now instead of a passion. And that is entirely Mgt’s fault
