I worked at IBM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Work from home and flexible work hours we major pros

    Cons

Once the layoffs started it was dog eat dog and everyone began looking out for themselves. Management became indifferent to the employees under them, contracting out became the norm for project resources since employees were progressively laid off, internal departments were off-shored which may have saved money on paper but made trying to get anything done a slow and painful process.

    Advice to Management

The business strategy of concentrating on a few hyped technologies like AI and security while getting out of hardware and software has killed this company. It's become all marketing and no real substance. And the concentration on trying to maintain a high share price at the expense of everything else including quality and value of services to customers is showing in the continuously declining sales year over year. The executive team is driving this company into the ground but they don't care because everyone of them walks away with multi-million dollar packages.

When Warren Buffett sold all his IBM shares, that tells you something.
