    Doesn't Recommend

I worked at IBM full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

International Careers and opportunities Knowlegde sharing and learning programs Office relatively close to my home and IBM paid commuting costs for working elsewhere Nice people to work with

    Cons

Week organization in my professional field (Java / software development) Sales organization only focused on big projects, not selling individual consultants They were unable to sell Java /software developer consultants in Oslo in a market where everyone else looked for Java developers.

    Advice to Management

Try to create business / projects / consultancy on top of the excellent cloud solutions IBM was promoting, that in fact needed this kind of competence. To hire better sales people instead of firing the professionals.

I have been working at IBM full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

IBM is a great place for opportunities to change the world. Leading technologies with ambitions to be essential. High ethical standards. Great people!

    Cons

Not sufficiently able to realize the potential for clients. Loosing some of the best people. Rigid processes and a lot of administration. Too much internal focus. A lot of politics sometimes reduces the ability to act in the best interests of the company and clients.

    Advice to Management

Local and regional management should be given the opportunity to exert leadership. To truly excel in the dynamic marketplace of 2017 and beyond, the business side should lead. IBM Finance is brilliant in managing cost, but the whole entreprise must be more agile.

One of the best places to learn to become a Project Manager is in IBM as you have to learn how complex a project can become for a big company
