    I worked at IBM

    Pros

Compensation and the name. The benefits are okay but the bonus is horrible. A lot less travel than normal firms

    Cons

Horrible project management. Inability to relate to clients. Lack of coordination across the practice. Ibm still uses lotus notes for email and other custom developed software solutions which make your work life suck

    Advice to Management

Have a longer term vision than end of month utilization.

I worked at IBM full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Worked with a lot of good professionals that cared about what they were doing. Full time work at home (if that's your thing).

    Cons

Where to start. Everything is #1 - no alignment at the Portfolio or across Senior Portfolio Executive Level to clearly define the top initiatives that align to the organization's strategy and short term goals. A LOT of escalations to "pull a resource from your #1 project to support my #1 project." No work/life balance and loads of weekend/overnight work. Pay is substantially LOWER than market average - even after...

    Advice to Management

See above. This is not going to change. IBM has become the latest in a vast array of old dinosaurs operating under old processes and business practices to improve their bottom line.

I have been working at IBM full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Brand name and prestige. In 3 months working for IBM, they have invested in my education by over $25,000.00.

    Cons

IBM is quite a large company and you can get lost in it. Keep a positive attitude and make your Eminence known.

    Advice to Management

Need to revamp New Employee Orientation. 1 day of orientation for a company this size is not enough.
