I worked at IBM as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

I was able to go from one department to another experiencing different aspects of the company. Aspects that most college-aged kids are unable to obtain. Being immersed in the law department truly gave me opportunity to see what corporate law is like, and what type of law I may want to do in the future.

    Cons

Since it was my first experience in such a large corporation, I wish that I was given more training. Many things were new to me, and I was unaware of what was being discussed. Though the new information turned out very educational and helpful.

I worked at IBM full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work-life balance was nice. All of the other interns were pleasant. Really focused on developing you. Salary was probably the best one could get.

    Cons

Work was sparse. They could have had 50% less interns.

    Advice to Management

Make sure to line up challenging work ahead of time. Give different interns a specific technical field to focus on the entire summer.

I worked at IBM as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good culture. Everybody is nice, great work environment. Managers are very approachable. It is a great experience and a big plus to your resume/CV.

    Cons

This company is perfect for at least an internship. If there could be any cons, I would say the location is kind of far from other places, like restaurants, recreations and stores....

I have been working at IBM as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Present to the CEO
    - Submit Patents
    - High Pay
    - Housing was covered 100%
    - Full-time benefits (e.g. Airfare discounts and car rental discounts)
    - Austin, TX is nice

    Cons

    - Texas is hot I guess
    - People bash on building 45, and they're right, it is a bit ugly
    - The play feels empty
    - Workers are honest about IBM almost even to a fault (I kind of like this though)

    Advice to Management

    - Work on getting more people to come on campus to work--too many people working from home, makes the place feel empty. Although ~7,000 people work at IBM Austin, it only ever feels like 2,000 of them are on campus.

    Pros

Really interesting work, and interesting work all around you
    Amazing hours and flexibility
    extremely smart people

    Cons

Not many young people, which was a little annoying as one of the few undergrad interns there.

I have been working at IBM full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The attorneys and partners are all very welcoming and informative when there are unknown territories in the line of work. The work environment is also very conducive to growth in the firm and in the market.

    Cons

During the summer, business ramps up due to increased home buyers in the market. This leads to longer, but still very manageable work weeks.

    Advice to Management

I would recommend this company to a friend - I'm optimistic about the outlook.
