I have been working at IBM as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Had an awesome manager who was really helpful.
    - So many resources to learn from. Try and get the Agile and Design Thinking badges while you are there.
    - Work from home Friday's at least for my team.

    Cons

    - Poor intro to Agile.

    Advice to Management

The Sou Chef video series is a great resource to help new hires understand Agile methodologies quicker. Having it as a recommended resource for when the interns / new hires begin.

I have been working at IBM as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Learn a lot in a relaxed corporate environment

    Cons

Very old/outdated company that tries to seem new and with the times by pushing buzzwords, that in the end have little impact on the actual day to day office life

    Pros

You're exposed to a lot of other IBMers who do different things, so you're constantly learning and evolving and discovering more and more about yourself and your interests. You get a lot of support; everyone here are 110% down to talk to you if you need help or if you just want to learn more about what they do.

    Cons

Sometimes the people you work with don't get back to you as quick as you'd like them to.

I worked at IBM as an intern

    Pros

-interacted with amazing IBMers every day who were genuinely interested in my future career and networking
-managers were really great, very passionate and supportive
-IBM Watson West office in SF is great- wonderful people and environment
-overall environment at IBM is very warm and welcoming, people always want to help

    Cons

-sometimes there was confusion over our assigned projects because our project managers seemed to be on different pages (this was resolved)
-wish we had more regular times to meet with our managers, our managers were always willing to talk with us, but it was difficult not having a weekly meeting period for us to check in

    Advice to Management

-keep on letting the interns have free-rein of the office!
-clarify what projects the interns are supposed to be doing beforehand
    -keep on being amazing!

I have been working at IBM as an intern

    Pros

This is so far my best internship experience. I had the chance to lear a lot of new technologies (Node.js, JavaScript). We used IBM DSX tools, wrote our own blog. My manager, mentors and everyone made us feel like we are a big part of the team, provided us with great guidance, and help. Many execs attended our sprint playbacks. Everyone gave us great feedback.

    Cons

The location I worked at doesn't have much open space environment. It is more like everyone has their own office room. As an intern I got to sit along with other interns in small open area. But I would prefer a big open space environment.

I have been working at IBM as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

IBM is one of the leading consultancies in the field of Big Data & Cognitive technologies. IBM has retransformed itself from being lead in mainframe business to lead in Technology consultancy.
Growth opportunities are abundant & work life balance is respected. IBM's pay & perks are top class.

    Cons

Less visibility because of the size of organization

    Advice to Management

Streamline services & make work across transparent to all, so that one can take leverage of the same work done by other teams.

I have been working at IBM as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Meaningful/Interesting Work
    Housing paid for
Relaxed work environment, as long as you deliver results

    Cons

Offices are without windows and can be claustrophobic
25 minute commute from interns' hotel to work (using shuttle)
Few work spaces other than office
Cafeteria food was good but expensive

    Advice to Management

Fix the male-female ratio. Explain more clearly to interns the direction that IBM wants to move business-wise.
