I have been working at IBM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good ideas and growth, within multiple industries.
Great insight into future movements within AI and other human enhancement systems (I.E. Oncology, Radiology, and Health Sciences), for all mankind.

    Cons

Difficulty getting HR to open up and explain why a posting "disappears", without notification to the applying candidate.
Silos within the departments need to be broken for the ideas to cross over to other areas.

    Advice to Management

Needs to get more assistant in vital areas, sometimes meaning filling a position whether or not the budget has it in. Revenue and profit will increase and cover that person's compensation. Gone too long without vital personnel.

I worked at IBM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Medical Benefits and nothing else.

    Cons

Avoid working for this company by all means. They will work you like an indentured servant, put you on-call and only allow you to sleep 4hrs a night and make your body sick with high blood pressure and insomnia. This place was the worst company I ever experienced other buddies of mine also endured health problems too.

DO NOT WORK FOR THEM. THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!!!

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees as humans with dignity and respect. Hire more people and stop getting rich off blood money.

I have been working at IBM full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Working from home. Interact with a vast variety of teams all over the world. The management for the team I work for are awesome! They do a great job allowing me to balance my work load and my home life.

    Cons

The higher level management seem to look at employees as a number not as people. I know it is a companies goal to do well financially but IBM seems focus all their energy on that and very little on the employees that work very hard to help them gain that wealth.

I have been working at IBM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

When it is a good fit, it's a great fit.

    Cons

Bureaucratic. Struggling to implement Agile is an understatement. The Old guard is not embracing new processes quickly enough.

    Advice to Management

Acquiring talent, using it up, and discarding it is not what you do with people. Stop leveraging the cell phone market as your overall business strategy for human resources.

    Cons

All opportunities are with managers & it would be real tough to go through the barriers.
Too much of politics & holdings.
