    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at IBM full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Peers and immediate team members were fantastic people.

    Cons

Threat of layoff every quarter. Only care about the bottom line, not retaining customers.

    Advice to Management

To C-Suite management: Mass quarterly layoffs, which result in less people to do the same amount of work, causes burnout and customer dissat. If you keep your people happy, you'll be able to keep your customers happy and grow your business. You're throwing away excellent resources just to save a buck.

I worked at IBM full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

none that I can think of

    Cons

Talent Management and Collaboration are heading down the tubes. All hope is not gone yet but it is close. Suggest saying away from this division. As for the rest of IBM, folks are too silo'ed and they do not care about other divisions. Not a very collaborative work environment.

    Advice to Management

break down the silos and reduce the layers of management.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at IBM for more than 20 years

    Pros

Management, work/life balance, cutting edge technology, great training options, you have the ability to stay very competitive in the market with the skills acquired at IBM

    Cons

Pay raises are small and so is profit sharing. Management can sometimes forget the hard work of the people that got them there in the first place. I’ve had terrible managers and fantastic managers within this organization.

    Advice to Management

Continue your focus on competitors and provide more training to support teams on customer management, retention and up selling.
