I have been working at IBM full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

IBM is very flexible and understanding of work hours, if I need to take off a little early for an appointment it's no problem. They also allow us to work from home and it's very low stress most of the time.

    Cons

Sometimes it's hard to see what is coming over the horizon so we lack foresight in many cases making it difficult to plan for things.

I worked at IBM as a contractor (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Access to all current technologies and associated education

    Cons

abnormal lack of job security for U.S employees. Due to many management structures are lacking people who are experts in the product they are managing
it is believed that senior software developers can easily be replaced with cheaper
entry level software developers in overseas locations.

    Advice to Management

Managers are way to pressured to help improve stock price to care about any advice

    Pros

Awesome people to work with, for the most part. Very good work/life balance.

    Cons

Perks are almost non-existent, medical insurance is shockingly expensive, and pay is much lower than market.

I have been working at IBM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Large company with reasonable opportunities for movement (not necessarily growth).

    Cons

Struggling to find its way as the IT landscape changes. Lack clear vision, executives not working together, splintered efforts.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the company succeeding, not you as an individual.
