    Pros

Great coworkers. Work at home. Decent benefits. Challenging work.

Toxic climate. Work 12 hour days and weekends or get laid off. Morale is at an all time low. Products no longer competitive in the marketplace.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the dinosaurs at the top, especially the CEO with 20 straight quarters of non performance.

too big to get things done
place no value on employees contributions, laying off many people who spent career at IBM for 30+ years and giving them 1 month severance.

    Advice to Management

value your people who helped build the company
focus not he clients, not t he spreadsheets and maybe revenue will grow again

I worked at IBM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Mobile employee, strong software portfolio, many subsidiaries / acquisitions that provide ability to transfer divisions. Fantastic partnership with ISV's and other OEM.

    Cons

Too many meetings, slow speed of execution. Slow pricing. End of quarter Chaos. Fear of taking vacation. Low pay increases.

    Advice to Management

    Need a new CEO

I worked at IBM full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Massive scale and name recognition.

    Cons

A lot of new solutions come out of development with nearly no QA, many bugs, many products fail to perform till later releases. Internal competition set up from Cloud+BlueMix vs traditional, legacy solutions. Benefits are expensive compared to competitors in the marketplace.

    Advice to Management

Don't fool yourself into thinking Watson is not HAL.

I have been working at IBM (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits; working with other talented peers; good work-life balance typically. Lots of flexibility to set your own schedule and appointments.

    Cons

Frequent re-organizations are disruptive, particularly in sales which is relationship-based. Too many products in each sales portfolio. Not enough cultural emphasis on prospecting, especially if business development needs to be a priority for overall growth.

    Advice to Management

Take feedback regarding territories from the reps who are interacting with the accounts on a regular basis. Too many weak accounts on Enterprise lists.

I worked at IBM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility to telecommute, good mentors if you seek them out, career progression possible. I met some fantastic people and the best part about the job are the coworkers I work with... outside of them honestly it's an old boys club with a bunch of old white men running the show.

    Cons

The company is trying to do too much and there is no clear vision. Layoffs are happening all the time because the company is not doing well - letting experienced people go in favor of cheaper younger people. You are (in sales) expected to have no outside life.. Culture is money and revenue over everything including client satisfaction. So much bureaucracy that you're going through at least 16 different people to get anything done. And honestly, there are some questionable business practices going on that in not comfortable with.

    Advice to Management

    ... needs a total reorganization.

    Cons
