    Pros

There is so much opportunity to provide value and make an impact since there is just so much work to go around.

    Cons

There are many areas significantly understaffed given the business commitments made through senior management and through some of the poor budgeting processes. This means that there's too much work and often people are asked to sacrifice work-life balance. At the same time, employees have more control than some realize since there is a respect for quality work and personal boundaries if one sets them.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people in your organization... and not just the ones that make the most noise.

    Pros

Work/life balance is great simply because many of us work from home.

    Cons

Salary and band promotions are rare regardless of your performance. There is no budget for outside training (classroom). Entire teams are being laid off and replaced with workers from a lower cost region. That is hardly necessary in order to remain competitive, especially for a company with huge profits. It's interesting that the executives making all the decisions still have their raises, bonuses and jobs.

    Advice to Management

Stop laying off qualified workers simply because they are US citizens. Sending jobs to lower cost regions in order to increase net profits is wrong and does not foster a positive attitude among workers. Start thinking of others instead of yourself when it comes to bonuses.

    Pros

Name Recognition - it used to mean a lot more!

    Cons

Slow to respond to tech changes, customer demands.

    Advice to Management

Let your people think so there are great career opportunities. Make it very fast paced = great people. In general when you work somewhere, you should be given direction not micromanaged. You need to recruit personalities who are extremely intelligent and knowledgeable!
