    Approves of CEO

    Pros

The level of competence across all employee levels is very high, at least at ibm.com.
Great workplace environment in my division
Forward-thinking technology-wise, fully embracing social media
    Good work/life balance
    Good opportunities for advancement

    Cons

    Lots of politics
Too many silos. Company is so big, there may be thousands of people doing similar work as you, but if you're not in your department, you may never hear about them.
IBM is a global company; US employees are the most expensive, so many jobs are being outsourced, and management is under terrific pressure to downsize all the time
Too many contractors, not enough full-timers. IBM gives a false impression of the number of employees there because probably 40-60% are contractors.

    Advice to Management

Be more customer-focused, not so internally focused.

    Pros

    - Exposure to variety of business cultures due to global nature of company/role.
    - Working on interesting projects and dealing with interesting/challenging people & situations.
    - Flexible work environment (Work From Home + Hot Desk) is often available.

    Cons

    - Salaries no longer competitive with market
    - Can be extremely political, with the best/right way often giving way to what suits certain people/teams.

    Advice to Management

A building is only as strong as it's foundations. Those on lower levels and to the ground should be heard and looked after.
