    I worked at IBM full-time

    Pros

Smart people, decent benefits, work from home

    Cons

Everyone is overloaded. Every time there is a layoff, they don't replace people and the existing workforce has to pick up the slack.

I have been working at IBM full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

If your with the right team, things can go very well Typically committed to diversity, up to a point Good place to grow and gain experience then move on

    Cons

Co-location takes priority over talent Very small salary increases Low RSU's Politics Non-existent Bonus - ~1% if your lucky

    Advice to Management

If one of the diverse employees who was previously a top performer is suddenly viewed as not performing, ask questions. I find that with a change in one exec, suddenly no one on the team was good enough and was blamed for not meeting extra high revenue goals. It's not always the executive team, look at the business strategy, you can't ride a cash cow forever and not have clients leave. You need to invest in your... products that are brining in money.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at IBM full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Pays well, very competitive salaries and bonus Smart people Lots of places to learn and tap into the expertise big company with many projects/products under development Can have a lot of responsibility below Director Level in terms of reports. Benefits are good, ability to take time off for sickness, etc is 2nd to none.

    Cons

You can get lost in the shuffle when the yearly reorg come about. If you want to move up, need to make sure the execs you're hitching your wagon to don't get sideswiped. Sometimes you do just get lost in the size of the place

I have been working at IBM full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Many opportunities, if you're willing to look and relocate.

    Cons

Terrible raises and bonuses, even for good employees. Declining benefits each year. Co-location was handled poorly. Near constant fear of layoffs is stifling.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better, they are not just numbers. Figure out what your true strategy going forward is, the last couple don't seem to be working out very well.

I worked at IBM full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Name recognition, network, technology exposure

    Cons

Age discrimination, outsourcing US jobs to India, too many levels of management that are simply overhead and serve to protect executive management by deflecting accountability

    Advice to Management

Let Bob Lord take over and then go clean the swamp Batman
