I worked at ICON Health & Fitness full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great atmosphere, they give prizes and perks around holidays. My favorite thing was Friday mandatory training. Even customers knew about it

    Cons

Call center leads throw their weight around. There is too much of a turn over rate here. You won't have your job for long. The longest I have seen is 2 years on call floor

    Advice to Management

Develop new policies for call center agents to suit tardies, computer crashes and delayed sign ins and absences

    Pros

Great company, great management, great coworkers. Great company in a great valley. It's family ran with the little guy in mind

    Cons

They do not put as many resources toward customer service employed or customers as they should. To many drastic unneeded changes

    Advice to Management

Put more recourses in customer service

I have been working at ICON Health & Fitness full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Health insurance is fairly cheap, discounts on equipment, onsite gym

    Cons

Top down management. It's a "do as I say or else..." management style. Antiquated internal systems make it challenging to ensure an efficient operation.

    Advice to Management

Empower your employees to make their own decisions; there's no need for micromanaging. Curb your spending on executive travel...it's absurd how much money is wasted.

I worked at ICON Health & Fitness (Less than a year)

    Pros

There were not a lot of pros of this job, the 4 week training at the beginning was good but really not long enough.

    Cons

I worked for the company for a few months before falling ill. In multiple emails they told me that I would not lose my job, but proceeded to fire me through email. They also broke confidentiality and told other employees in great detail why I was fired before they even talked to me. In the few weeks that I was out I kept in touch with them regularly telling them that I had a disability and asked to speak with HR in regards to FMLA or short term disability, it was all declined. They claim that it was too much to keep me on the books while I was out, but they were not paying me. This is a very stressful job. Please consistently call in and swear and yell at you and if you don't make the 9 minute phone calls you are spoken to, also if you ask for assistance you get treated like you are an idiot. The leads do not want to help. You get No health benefits for 90 days and no vacation or sick time for a year and the pay is not great.
